Paz y Naturaleza
Dimensions: 14” x 20” | Price (unframed): $375.00 SOLD!
Artist's Description - This painting is set in Chincheros, Peru, a small province outside of Cusco. The muted colors and scenic landscape are meant to convey peace and tranquility post harvest time. In the center of the composition are "tomes", large clay pots, which are used to ferment the maize into a local alcoholic beverage called "cha cha." These "tomes" are typically buried in the sand as it insulates them from the environment creating the right conditions for fermentation.
Margarita
Dimensions: 15.5” x 18.5” | Price (unframed): $475.00
Artist's Description - Margarita's figure is meant to dominate this painting making the landscape seem small in comparison through perspective and color. Each layer of depth is characterized by a different type of shape - the flowing blues in the sky, jagged ripples in the mountains, rounded tan slices of the ground, and simplified, but realistic flowers and leaves in the foreground. Most importantly, the natural contours of the outline of Margarita's body contrast the geometric edges that make up her body. Peace, beauty, and nature come together here in this masterpiece of shapes and color.
On display at Prince St. Cafe in New York, NY. See Events Page.
Composicion Desnuda

Artist's Description - Typical of Ovalle's style is to place figures of the foreground of scenic landscapes which "make the figures large than life, and shows the juxtaposition of beauty and nature".
